My story

Blended, balanced and future-focused

career

I’ve always been fascinated by how products and systems are designed to get people from point A to point B, and motivated to get to point C. From a restaurant menu, to a subway system, to a financial loan application, to a learning curriculum—everything we design needs to be useful, efficient and desirable in order to be considered valuable.

I have a formal education and work experience in two fields: Design and Educational Technology. So far, my 15-year career journey involves several areas of expertise including new product development, user experience, and learning & development. I’ve researched, designed, patented, and launched consumer products, services and learning experiences for Fortune 100 companies and non-profits in collaboration with product managers and engineers. No matter the project or challenge I leverage a combination of human-centered and instructional design practices to create innovative experiences for my clients, their learners, and the organizations they represent.

Personal

I grew up the sister to three older brothers with our Mom—the creative teacher, and our Dad—the pragmatic engineer. I have no doubt that the lessons I learned from my closest family, friends and teachers directly influenced the career path I chose in design and education.

Today, my husband and I raise two mini versions of us and one extra-large dog. Our favorite past-time is dreaming up what to build, fix, do and see next. With an affinity for the outdoors, our goal is to explore one of the globe’s 6,000+ National Parks each year.

I’ve never found it easy to describe myself myself, so here are my results from two of today’s most common personality assessment tools:
